Jordan Koehler '15 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jordan Koehler. In the fall of 2014, I will be a senior at Galesburg High School in Galesburg, IL.  I've played on the varsity girls golf team since I was a freshman. Freshman year I was 7th all-conference, and received 5th place at regionals. My sophomore year I improved to 3rd all-conference, and recieved 5th place at both the Rock Falls Invite and the Galesburg Invite. All three years my team has been able to advance to sectionals, and I have missed going to state by two strokes both my freshman and sophomore years. The summer of 2013, I won the first flight of the IWGA state tournament with a two day total of 163, shooting 86 and 77. My junior season, fall 2013, I earned 1st at conference, 2nd at Regionals, 3rd place at the Rock Falls Invite, and 5th at the Galesburg Invite. I missed going to state by 1 stroke. In addition to golf, I play varsity basketball for my high school.

Whenever it has come to school and athletics, my approach has always been to do more than what is expected and to lead by example. I’ve found that showing up to practice early and being the last to leave, or taking time outside of practice to work on certain aspects of my game in order to get better, pays off.

I'd like to pursue a career in physical therapy or sports medicine. I carry a 3.8 GPA. I’d love the opportunity to continue playing golf in college while furthering my education.
