Personal Statement

Ended senior season  all conference and advanced from regional level to sectional. Team didnt advance to state. Shot an 89 at sectional

**Update-summer 2018:  Really starting to play well leading into senior year.  Last 3-18 hole scores have been 87,87,85.  The 85 was a second place finish on 8/4 at the Southern IL Golf Association Championship and the 2-87's was in Belleville, IL at Far Oaks and at Crab Orchard in Carterville, IL

I has only been playing since the Spring of 2016 and started by taking lessons from a former Division I golfer.  My 9-hole scores started in the 70's to upper 60's to now an average of right at 46 or slightly below. My low round is a 41 in competitive play during my junior year, where I was the medalist at the 9/18/18 Carmi, IL tourney. This summer (2017) , My lowest 18 hole round of 91 to date. On 7/29/17 I placed first out of 3 golfers in my age group shooting a 91 at Franklin County Country Club -Southern IL Golf Association Players Championship.   This fall during the 2017 golf season I was named All-South Seven Conference finishing 8th overall. 9/24/18 as a junior I finished 7th overall and was named to the all South Seven conference team for the 2nd straight year.

**May 28th played 18 at Franklin County CC and shot my best 18 hole round ever with an 84 during a practice round.  Shot a 91 on 6/3 during the Franklin County tournament.  As part of the Southern IL Golf Association tour (SIGA) on 7/2/19 in McLeansboro, IL I tied for 1st and ended up 2nd in a sudden death playoff with my best score ever in competition with an 89.  I'm excited for my senior year and working hard in the summer to prepare for the upcoming fall season.

I am passionate about golf like nothing I've ever participated in and will only improve.  My summer (2017) included playing in 10 tournaments and 2 prior ones in the spring. I need to continue to get stronger, and am enrolled in our fitness PE class, which will focus on strength training.  Church is very important to me and my character is very high.   I went on a mission trip in the summer of 2018 to the Dominican Republic, which was truly life changing.  I babysit during my free time for families and focus totally on golf as a sport.  Band is something I love as well and am very involved with during school.  Local tournaments through the Southern IL Golf Association and some Prep Tour events (www.preptour.com) this spring and summer will keep my very busy.  Playing college golf is extremely important to me, and will do whatever it takes to make it happen.
