The most memorable part of my short golf career was going to state my senior year. We placed 5th as a team, making school history. Starting golf as a freshman, I never would have thought I would make it to state. However, the most defining moment of my golf career was sectionals of my junior year. It was at my home course and a good round was expected. Walking off of that last green defeated, I decided that it wouldn't happen the next year. My focus of the upcoming summer would be improving my swing and playing as much as I could, with summer volleyball also on my schedule.
Playing golf in the same season as volleyball was a challenge. I couldn't play a lot of normal season matches, but I would play in every post season match. The commitment of both sports taught me sacrifice, perseverance, and leadership. The sports I have played have also taught me valuable lessons in the classroom. With academics being a main priority, school has always come naturally to me. Nursing school will be demanding, but I am willing to do what it takes to play golf, if the nursing program would allow it. Glorifying God through school and the sport I love is above all for me.
