My name is Marissa Kunzman, and I’m currently a junior at Sherrard High School. I will be graduating in 2024, and I’m hoping to continue to play golf at the college level. I’ve been golfing since the age of eight, and I’ve been competing for the past four years. I truly enjoy watching golf, playing golf and pushing myself to improve my golf game. This past summer, I had the opportunity to participate in Iowa’s Junior PGA, which not only improved my game, it gave me an opportunity to face strong opponents on challenging courses. I’m dedicated not only to becoming the best golfer I can be, but also contributing to the success of my team.
In addition to golf, I’m very focused on academics. Currently, I have a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. I’ve also been a varsity cheerleader since my freshman year of high school. Within the next two years, my plan is to work individually with a golf professional to fine tune some of the areas that present the most challenges for me in my golf game. I am also planning to play in the Iowa Junior PGA the next two summers and participate in tournaments through the First Tee program in the Quad Cities.
