Kyra Simon '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Kyra Simon. I am a senior on the golf team at Winnebago High School, located in Winnebago, Illinois.  I have held the #1 position on the team since my Freshman year.  
I began my golfing journey at the age of 4! This has allowed me to grow a wide knowledge of the etiquette, sportsmanship and rules surrounding the game. Over the last 3 years I have worked very hard to  improve my score.  I  have worked my score from shooting low 90s’s as a freshman, to mid 80s as a sophomore, to high 70s as a junior and now my average score is 75.
I have set two records this year at my school, I am the first girl golfer from Winnebago to shoot below par in a match. I am also the first girl golfer to qualify for state. Last year I placed 11th at state, 79, 73. This year was all state placing 7th shooting 76, 73.
I practice my game, day in and day out, to achieve my goals and I am not planning on stopping. I will continue to lower my score to become the very best I can. I will do this not only because I am striving to be great but I throughly enjoy playing this great game.
