I am currently a senior at Maconaquah High School in Bunker Hill, Indiana, and have the goal of playing golf on a collegiate level. Golf is the last sport I thought I would ever be playing, but I decided to give it a try and have come to love it. I started golf 6 years ago and have played varsity golf since freshman year. I play in the number 1 and 2 position on my team with 10 people. I have been captain on my team for the past 2 years and I am very thankful our team is like a family. My first tournaments consisted of little city tournaments where I won 5 out of the 6 I played in. I then leveled up my game and played in Indiana Junior PGA tournaments. I was invited to play at Indiana Elite tournaments out of Indianapolis 2 years in a row. I placed 3rd at sectionals with an 81 and advanced to regionals as an individual. I shot an 83 at regionals and was 3 strokes from making it to state. I was placed 15th out of 115 in the state. I have received All County Team Awards and placed 4th in my TRC. My famous ability in golf are my long drives. My longest drive so far was 305 yards long. One lesson I would say I have learned playing this is that it is very mental and everyone makes mistakes including the professionals.
I currently hold a 3.4 GPA on a 4.0 scale. I am ranked 53 out of 121 in my class. I am enrolled and have taken many honors and AP classes including Honors English Language Arts, Advanced Animal Sciences, Advanced Child Development, Principles of Teaching, AP Language and Composition, and AP Literature. I am undecided on an academic pathway at the moment, but I am looking to pursue a career in agriculture.
