My name is Mia Scrimgeour, and I’m a 21-year-old junior currently studying Political Science at Western Illinois University. While I’ve really enjoyed my time here at WIU, I’ve started to feel like it may be time for a change as I approach my senior year. The lack of a coach and known recruits for next season has me thinking about transferring to a school that can offer the best environment for my athletic and academic goals. My education is my top priority, and I always make sure to stay ahead of my coursework, especially during the season when traveling for tournaments. I’m someone who thrives with flexibility in my schedule, allowing me to focus on the aspects of my golf game that need work, while also maintaining my academic responsibilities. I value a coaching staff that provides support and encouragement, and I believe that a well-rounded athlete should not only focus on their sport but also their physical and mental fitness. I work hard in the gym, on my mental game, and with proper nutrition to make sure I’m always performing at my best. I’m an energetic person with a love for life, and I bring a lot of positivity and fun to the team dynamic. Whether it's playing music too loudly or dancing on the course, I’m always there to make my teammates smile. My friends would describe me as hardworking, sometimes taking on more than I can handle, but I always make sure to finish everything to the best of my ability. I’m excited to explore new opportunities and find a team that can help me achieve my goals as I look ahead to my senior year. I would love to discuss this further with you and see if your program might be the right fit for me.
