My name is Annie Rose. I was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, about a mile away from the Augusta National Golf Club, which means golf is in my blood. I like to brag that my dad has played ANGC 3 times, and my dream would be to match him, but as a contender in the ANWA.
Though resistant at first, after many years I've come to understand everything the game of golf can teach me. I've learned that you have to be disciplined, committed, ambitious, and patient to get better. So for the last 3 years, I've structured my life to embody these values.
I am currently a junior attending a virtual high school and golfing full time. My approach to the game is to put as much as I possibly can into my practice, so I am prepared for tournament play.
1. I practice every day at a challenging golf course, West Lake CC - Martinez, GA. I spend most of my time working on my short game and course management.
2. I see a physical trainer, Jay Garrison, who specializes in golf (currently a trainer for golfers on the PGA Tour, PGA Champions Tour, and NCAA Division 1).
3. I work on my mental game utilizing the My Mental Golf Type program.
4. I also see a world-class PGA Professional, Cara Andreoli, who has coached countless collegiate level golfers.
I say all this to stress that I am prepared for the hard work that comes with playing competitive golf at the highest levels.
Along with my commitment to this sport, I hold myself to the highest academic expectations. I maintain a 4.0 GPA, and I'm confident that I can continue this performance at the college level. Like in golf, I thrive when I'm given a goal to shoot for.
What makes me a great candidate for your team is my ability to be self motivated. Since our world was shut down in my 8th-grade year, I've had to learn to move through life on my own. I set my own schedule everyday and have learned how to manage my time. I don't have a bell signaling class changes or set school hours. My life is much like that of a college student and has been this way for the last 3 years. I'm excited to take on the challenge of college life and feel confident that I would be an excellent addition to your 2025 Women's golf team.
