My name is Ashlyn Armstrong and I am in the graduating class of 2023 at Dodge City High School. I am looking to pursue a degree in Criminal Justice while continuing my passion for golf at the collegiate level. I have been a dual sport athlete since I was 10, enjoying both golf and swimming. I love to compete and strive to be the best I can be in the classroom, on the golf course, or in the pool. I know that hard work is the only way to get better.
I have always enjoyed playing golf, but did not really play competitively until I was 14. I made the high school varsity team as a freshman where I had four top ten finishes including 10th at Regionals and I qualified for state as an individual. An unfortunate fall down the stairs put me in a walking boot my sophomore golf season but I did not let that stop me. I battled through it and still managed a 2nd place finish at one tournament, an 8th place finish at regionals, and qualified for State where I finished 41st, all while wearing the boot. My junior year has been my best so far. I had seven top ten finishes including my first win which was at Regionals in a playoff and a ninth place finish at State.
I believe my hard work ethic and competitive spirit make me a good candidate for a college team. I look forward to the opportunities and challenges that college golf will bring and I am willing to put in the work to be the best student-athlete I can be.
