I have played competitive golf for only three years, but the game has become my passion. For me, golf is the constant pursuit to push myself to improve my game and lower my scores. I love golf because when I make a swing change, I can understand the physics of why the ball moves in a certain way. Golf forces you to be mentally tough and rewards those who work hard. If I am not on the golf course or in the classroom, you can find me in the swimming pool. Although I now dedicate much more of my time to golf than swimming, I have been a competitive swimmer since I was 6 years old, swimming with Nation’s Capital Swim Club, Palisades swim team, and now my high school varsity team. Both competitive golf and swimming have taught me the value of hard work and perseverance as well as a love of competition. In addition to improving my golf game, I enjoy helping others to do so, too. I volunteer at a nearby public course’s LPGA-USGA program for young girls. I love sharing my knowledge and empowering girls to take up the sport. I hope to continue throughout college the amazing golf experience I have had. I want to be challenged both in the classroom and on the golf course. My oldest sister, a former varsity swimmer at Brown, has shared with me the many benefits, and the challenges, of being a collegiate student-athlete. I am excited about the prospect of playing varsity golf at college.
