Upon graduation from Scituate High School this May in 2019, I've decided to take a PG year next August and train and play golf at IMG Golf Academy in Bradenton, FL. Being young for my grade, I decided this year ahead focusing on training would provide me great growth personally and as a player. I look forward to being recruited for the 2020 year and contributing to a university's golf team.
Over the past five years I have competed in both regional and national golf tournaments. My success has allowed me to compete in US Challenge Cup, FCWT, NEPGA, Golfweek and AJGA events. Since my freshman year, I have played on the boys varsity golf team. Every year on the team, I have been recognized with an award; as a freshman I was rookie of the year; as a sophomore I received Patriot League All Star award; as a junior the Patriot League All-Scholastic award for both golf & tennis; and as a senior the Patriot League All Star for boys golf. As a sophomore, I shot a 79 in the girls state tournament as an individual finishing in 3rd place and as a junior I shot an 82 at the boys state final finishing with the 14th lowest score out of 90 participants. Each season since freshman year I have received an All Scholastic Athlete award from the Boston Globe, Boston Herald and Patriot Ledger. I was nominated as the Patriot Ledger Player of the Year as a sophomore and a junior. Last spring, I won the MIAA sectional tournament shooting a 75 and came in tied for 2nd at the MIAA State final tournament shooting a 79. As a result of my golf season, I was awarded again Boston Globe, Boston Herald and Patriot Ledger All Scholastic award.
During this past tournament season, I traveled a lot to play in regional and national events including qualifying for the Optimist International. My best round this summer was shooting a 76-76 at the HJGT Athens Tournament in Athens, GA. I had several rounds this season in the seventies and am currently working on fine tuning my course management skills and short game practice routines. I am confident my scores will continue to improve with hard work, dedication and perseverance. These assets are extremely important in any sport especially golf as there will always be challenges. In the off season here in New England, I train indoors in a golf dome and focus on weekly workouts to increase strength, core and endurance.
My attributes on the course have also served me well in the classroom and in other sports. I play varsity tennis as well and remain a high honor roll student taking Honors and AP classes maintaining my 4.3 GPA.
