I have been hitting a golf ball since I was a little girl. At the first house I lived in there was a wall that separated my house from a park. My father would take me and my sisters into the backyard and bet us an ice cream cone if we could hit the ball over the wall. We got good at it. He stopped betting us. I was around 5 or 6 then. I fell in love with the game of golf and have been playing and practicing ever since.
I am a three sport athlete in high school and have played multiple sports my whole life. Golf, basketball and soccer are my high school sports.
I believe that I would make an excellent athlete for your team for three main reasons. I am a team player/good teammate, I am very coach-able and I like to play in tough situations and conditions.
I love sports. I am competitive. I thrive on the challenge. The absolute best part about being on a team is your teammates. I enjoy being there for my team and learn so much from them. I am a good teammate. Anyone I have played with would tell you that I am positive, never negative. Ever. Helping them when they need it and taking there advice is what all teammates should do.
Ever since I was little and started playing on organized teams, my coaches have always told my parents what a coach-able athlete I am. They instilled in me that no matter what, my job as an athlete is to respectfully listen to my coach and to always try my best to listen to their advice. If they agreed with the coaches advice or not, it is my job to listen and do what the coach says. I always do. With a smile. You can ask any of my coaches that I have had over the years.
I thrive on the tough game days. I am not exactly sure why, but I have always been like that. If we are playing in a tough district game, I amp up my game. My coaches will you that "I see" the court, or the field or the hole. Anticipating the next play is what I do. It's my strategy.
School is very important to me. I enjoy it. I work hard to maintain good grades and keep my GPA. Playing college golf would be such an amazing experience and opportunity for me. My older sister plays college golf and I have enjoyed watching her game excel to the next level and to hear her stories of what being a college athlete is like. I want that too. Taking my game to the next level would be an honor for me.
I am confident that I would make an excellent addition to your roster. I look forward to it.
Sincerely,
Brandi Kautz
