After my team finished 5th at Division II state finals two years, was when it all really came into perspective for me. Our team last year (2017) had four Seniors, and one Junior (me); meaning that it was our last chance to step up our game, and bring home a state title. After a heart breaking loss in the tie-breaker, our last chance had come up short. If that was not enough, another heartbreaker came when I missed Division 2 State Finals by one shot. This has driven me to spend more time working on the fundamentals of my swing, and my mental game as well. The stronger you are mentally, then the stronger your game will be. Furthermore, I have learned very quickly that you have to take golf one swing at a time, you have to stay in your moment. Also, you can not let your last shot dictate your next. Because of golf, and my background, I have great time management, dedication, drive, and I will not stop until I achieve my goals or team goals.
On the academic side of things, it is my goal to maintain my all-academic award throughout high school, and be able to carry that into college. Aswell, I have been officially inducted into the National Honor Society, and I have made the honor roll since 8th grade, plus my GPA is only getting better; just like golf. After achieving my degree, my goal is to be able to take over my mothers family business of Financial Planning. Working in her office over my summers has provided me with a greater sense of responsibility, and taught me to be a leader to get where I want to be.
