Growing up I never really played golf. We joined Egypt Valley Country Club when I was around 10 years old. From ages 10-13 I played golf a couple times a year in the summer, I didn't like it at all. At the time, I was involved in competitive dance, as time went on I started to lose interest in it so I quit. I was unsure what to do next so I started taking golf seriously even though I told myself I hated it. The summer going into my freshman year of high school is when I officially started taking it seriously and started to take lessons. I went from shooting in the 100's to shooting low 80's and high 70's in 3 years. I shot my lowest round ever, 2 under par at the Meadows at Grand Valley State University in a high school tournament this year and I recently placed 11th at my high school state tournament for division 2. My goal for this spring is to consistently shoot high to mid 70's. I now love golf and am so proud of my progress and am excited to see what I can do in the future.
