I became interested in golf around age 14. Although I had played before, I didn’t decide that I wanted to play for college until 8th grade. First, I have played in the #1 spot for three years. Also, I was voted team captain the past two years. My senior year (2019), I finished in 1st place for the Southwest Michigan Athletic Conference (SMAC) season standings with and 18-hole average of 81 and a 9-hole average of 41.
Golf has had a big impact of my life. Through the years, golf has acted as a way for me to relax while challenging me to perfect my game. When I am on the course I am able to forget about all the other stresses of life, and focus on improving my golf game one aspect at a time. Through playing golf I have learned many things but, the quality I have found to be most important, is determination. I have learned that you cannot just fix your golf swing in an hour; you need to put in hours of practice and still be determined even if things aren’t going the way you had hoped. I am hoping to continue playing golf through college (and life). For college I am looking for a team that has girls that are engaged and focused on working on their golf game, and also foster a team environment. I am looking for an opportunity to improve and refine my golf game. I would like to be a part of a competitive school academically and athletically because I like to be challenged in my everyday life.
