Kaitie Mallory '20 Recruiting Profile

The first time I ever picked up a golf club was at the beginning of my freshman year. Ever since that moment I have been diligently working to improve every aspect of my game. Nothing has truly influenced my life quite like golf has. It has taught me the importance of teamwork, integrity, determination and hard work. With these qualities, I have developed leadership skills in not only golf, but academics and extracurricular activities as well. I was nominated by my team and coach to be team captain my Junior year, and also nominated by my coach and selected by the Athletic Director to represent East High School at the MHSAA Captains Clinic. Because of golf I have gained more confidence in the classroom. I am not afraid to participate in class, and I am always willing to ask any teacher for more help if necessary. I have always valued the fact that God, family, and academics always come before sports. I take my academics very seriously, and regularly attend tutoring sessions to stay caught up in math. Golf has also taught me leadership in extracurricular activities as well. It gave me the confidence to join the track and field team at East where I throw shot put and discus. I also started a book club at East where we currently have 6 members, and strive to interpret fictional literature in a different way outside of the classroom. I am confident that I would make a positive impact not only on the course but in the classroom as well.
