Samantha Doherty '23 Recruiting Profile

My passion for golf drives my desire to perform at a top level both academically and athletically. This has shown since my 7th-grade year when I became a member of the Mesabi East Girls Varsity Team.  I have maintained high honors academically and am also an inducted member of NHS. I not only hold high standards academically but also athletically. I have participated in basketball and swimming, but most recently have decided to completely focus on golf. My recent participation at the Minnesota AA State Golf Tournament has proven that my dedication to the sport can be taken to the next level of golf. Not only did I participate with my team, but I was also the leading scorer and went from being third on the team to first. My focus for my senior year of high school is to maintain my place on the dean's list and elevate my golf game to the collegiate level. I am continuing to improve my game by working with numerous golf coaches in the area. This has continued to drop my 18-hole average with me currently being a mid 80’s player.  My drive for golf will push me further both on the course, academically, and in my future career.
