Catherine Monty '20 Recruiting Profile

I have played golf since I was 7 years old.  I have been on the high school team at Stillwater Area High School in Minnesota for 4 years, with my 8th, 9th and 10th grade years consistently playing varsity, and my 7th grade year playing both junior varsity and varsity.  I have additional golf experience through playing tournaments through the MN Jr. PGA, HJGT, MGA and USGA.  My home course is White Bear Yacht Club where I had my first hole in one on May 6th, 2018.  Along with golf I play tennis, and I have played on the varsity team my freshman and sophomore years.  I have a solid academic career with challenging courses such as Honors English,  AP History, AP Geography, and higher math classes.  I also take Mandarin as my second language.  I chose Mandarin because I lived in Hong Kong and traveled throughout Asia when I was younger, and upon returning to the US I was enrolled in a Chinese immersion school during my elementary years.  I am hard working, honest, loyal and a leader.  I like a good challenge and enjoy competition.  In college, I would like to study Political Science and further my studies in Chinese.  I'd love golf to be a part of my college career with a coach who challenges me and pushes me to succeed.
