Personal Statement

I started playing golf when I was 6 years old. Now, I’m in my first year of High school. I played number 2 on our varsity team. I also made all conference and we won it as a team. We also went to state as a team. Everyone can put the work into being great but it takes a real athlete to have a love for the game and have a passion for the sport. I really do love golf. I've played it most of my life. I couldn't see myself doing anything else besides going to college and playing golf. It is my dream to someday be a professional athlete. It is not all about practice alone, but being able to balance school work, good grades, a healthy lifestyle, time with family and friends and keeping it all evenly distributed is just as important. This so important to me that I want to do my best in school and strive for a 4.0 GPA average which is just as important as a good score in the game of golf. I want to be the best that I can be as a student and an athlete.

Day one of the tournament my game was pretty up and down with 3 birdies and a final score of 89. day two I had a great back 9 with a 40, the front wasn't as good with a 52 and total score of 92.

Played (walked, no caddies) 36 holes in one day tournament at 5860 yardage! Played really well first 18 holes finishing with a 80. Second 18 I struggled a little off the tee and ended with an 87. I end up 3rd in the 16-18 division.

The event was held at Swope Memorial a very very hilly course we played white tees 5770 distance. Qualifying was Friday. I tied two other girls for third and received the 5th seed. Saturday morning was the first round which I won 6&5. We had about an hour break and started the next round which I won 4&3 making the semifinals Sunday morning. I was beaten 8&7 in the semifinals match by the eventual overall winner.

Had a good day played 5480 in the 16-18 age division ( Just turned 15). I was in the hunt for player of the year with a win! Started a little slow and got down by 4 at at the turn. Battled back and was only down by one going into 18. the leader put her third shot about 8 feet from the pin on her approach shot into the green. So I had to take a risky shot to try and get it within hers for the win or tie. It didn't quit work out. Ended up loosing to her by three, I had to go for the chance to win second was second! I ended up get player of the year runner u-up..

Shot my first PAR 72 round of golf in the tournament today. shot a 37 on the front nine and my first below PAR 35 on the back. It was a rainy day but everything came together in my game!

Shot an 81 on the 5505 yard course. Went one over pair on the front with a 37 and a 44 on the back playing 300 yards longer. Couple missed chip shots and longer yardage hurt me on the back.

Played 5450 on a rainy challenging course. Three hour storm delay on Wednesday and a 30 minute rain delay on Thursday. Played OK greens gave me challenges with the changing conditions. Shot 90 on Wednesday and 91 on Thursday for 8th place out of 20 girls.

Played 5,500 yards. Saturday was chilly and very windy 20-25 mph with gusts 30+. played well with a score of 90. Sunday was a much better day and score 81.

Had a great WIN! I played a good round scoring a 75 and taking the overall win by four strokes for the conference championship. Our team also won the team championship by two strokes. It was a great day for Blue Springs high school as it was our 5th consecutive Conference team championship!
