My name is Audrey Smith, and I am a Junior at Rolla Senior High School. I started playing golf in the spring of 2020 and immediately fell in love with the game. It wasn’t until the end of my freshman year that I realized collegiate golf was an option for me, but now I don’t see myself taking any other path.
I find golf as much mentally challenging as it is physically challenging, and my mental game is something continuously receiving much of my focus. I have a strong work ethic and am constantly working to improve all aspects of my game. I am a team leader and involve, engage, and encourage my teammates during and outside of practices.
I place significant emphasis on excelling in the classroom, and I work hard to maintain a GPA of 4.0, while taking AP and Dual Credit Classes. I am also a part of International Thespian Society, DECA, FBLA, and Speech and Debate, where I will be the Original Oratory Captain for the 23-24 school year.
I want to attend a college that challenges me both in the classroom and on the golf course where I can grow as an athlete, team member, and individual. I plan to major in marketing/communications with the intent to pursue a career in the golf industry. I am hopeful that collegiate golf will open opportunities for my future, and I am open to many options and ultimately want to find the best college fit possible.
