Megan Li '21 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Megan Li and I am currently a junior attending my fifth year at The Davidson Academy of Nevada in Reno, Nevada. However, I play on the Girls’ Golf Varsity Team for Galena High School.

Through hard work, initiative, and a unique passion for doing new things, I have balanced rigorous course work at one of the nation’s top-performing schools and achieving highly in a variety of extracurriculars, particularly golf. Starting in eigth grade, I have worked hard to become the top player for my three years on the Girls’ Golf Varsity Team for Galena High School (Class 4A). Unfortunately, this means that my junior year will be my fourth and last year playing high school golf. However, this inspires me to practice and perform exceptionally in the coming year by setting specific goals for my skill set (i.e. swing speed), my individual performance, and my team's performance. I am an upbeat, energetic, and ambitious teammate, and last year, I led my team to the regional tournament for the first time in years. 

I plan to consider colleges that are a good match for me academically. While I have not completely decided on a major, I am leaning towards Pre-Medical Studies.

Golf has taught me so much about driving myself towards improvement, taking opportunities, and pushing my limits, no matter how challenging. It has helped me develop many skills, including ambition, perception, and persistence—all of which have been vital to my successes and leadership in other activities such as debate, clubs, and internships. I am very adaptable by nature and thrive under intense circumstances. I am exceptionally coachable, an enthusiastic team player, and motivated to succeed. I am very familiar with balancing an intense work load and a rigorous training schedule, and I believe I have the talent, work ethic, and character to make a significant impact to your team. I am eager to take on golf at the collegiate level.
