My name is Emma Cammalleri. I am in the class of 2023 at Northern Valley Regional High School in Demarest, New Jersey. I’ve been playing golf alongside my dad since I was five years old; however, most of my formal athletic career has been spent as a competitive soccer player.
During the pandemic, time away from the soccer field provided me an opportunity to focus my attention on golf, practicing, and playing more rounds than ever. My efforts resulted in a strong sophomore golf season, followed by some valuable tournament experience this past summer, which further enhanced my desire to take my game to the next level.
My athleticism, competitiveness, and lower body strength developed on the soccer field have proven to be an asset to my golf game. On the course, I drive the ball as well as anyone, and I am a solid ball striker with irons. I continue to work on sharpening my chipping and putting skills, which will result in lower scores and better tournament results.
I fully appreciate both the team and individual aspects of high school and college golf and thrive in either atmosphere. My golf and soccer teammates and my coaches have recognized my work ethic, including diligent practice, continual learning, and open-mindedness. They also are confident of my commitment and dedication to my teammates. I look forward to making the same positive impact with any college team I join.
Academically, I am a hard worker, maintaining excellent grades while pursuing a challenging class schedule and busy extracurricular calendar. I am looking for a school where I can contribute to the golf team, both on the course and as a quality teammate and leader, while simultaneously engaging in demanding classes and meaningful activities that maximize my college experience and future success.
