Darby Reeder '20 Recruiting Profile

I am a sophomore at Cleveland High School in Clayton, NC. I have always been very passionate and competitive with all sports and activities where I have competed. By nature, I am a very competitive person. I love to win, but I am strong enough to handle my shortcomings with grace and with the right attitude and mindset to do what is necessary to get better so I can perform well the next time I compete.  I am a team player, I enjoy the success of my teammates and those around me as much as myself.

Outside of golf and before my golf career, I participated in many forms of dance from age five and committed myself to 4-5 nights per week with privates along the way.  I competed at the competition level and was very successful.

At age 15 now, I have competed all my life and have always been dedicated to whatever activity I have been involved in. I have given up all activities to pursue golf. I love the sport and the challenge.  Unlike dance where a different set of judges on any given day could change the outcome, I feel more in control of my destiny by my hard work and talent with golf.

I have served in many leadership roles through the local Junior Civitan Organization in North Carolina, both locally and now at the state level. I have served as President for two years for my local Civitan club and many roles at the state level.  I have recently been elected to serve as Governor of NC Junior Civitan District East.  My support group is preparing me for International Board in the near future. I look forward to the work ahead with this wonderful organization.

I am very goal oriented and my passion now is GOLF.  I have a strong desire to hopefully be awarded a golf scholarship at some level  and with my focus on good academics, I believe I will be a good fit for many collegiate golf programs.  I look forward to building the foundation that will lead me to success in my golf career through my sophomore, junior and senior years of high school.
