I continue with a 4.0 unweighted student during my junior year effective January 2023. In addition, for the fall 2022 golf season, I was selected varsity MVP. My coaches said I was selected MVP not only because of my golf skills but because I was the glue of the team and helped train and bring along 4 freshman teammates both during and outside of the sport. I am very diversified not only playing varsity golf but also varsity and JV Lacrosse. Community service and leaderships skills are very important to me as I participate in both a regional Dayton leadership program called Juniors Lead Dayton by the City of Dayton and Students Lead Dayton as part of Dayton Regional STEM High School. I also participate in the ACT/SAT and media clubs at the Dayton Regional STEM High School. I finished as 1st Team All GWOC Conference autumn 2022.
I have been a 1st company dancer at the South Dayton Dance Theater through 2021. I have now expanded my dance to include ballroom dancing. Dancing allows me to express my creative side and that helps me with creative shot making in golf. Further, dance makes me unique for golf in that I am very flexible which is key to golf. I am a junior on the high school varsity golf for Miamisburg High School. One of my goals is to play varsity all 4 year. I lettered as a freshman, sophomore and now as a junior.
Another goal is to continue to compete on junior golf tours through my high school career to prepare for college. I would love to compete on a college golf team. My latest competition on the SOPGA/AJGA /JGS Tour yielded me an average score of 85 and 9th place in 2022.
I want to double major in the medical/bio-medical field and dance during college even if it takes me an extra year to graduate. I expect to continue on for a Masters/medical degree .
The reason I am interested in the medical field is I have a severe peanut allergy and want to find solutions to allergies. I participate in a national study to reduce reactions to peanuts. I do research for high school and science fair looking at solutions to de-sensitize humans from severe peanut reactions. I am using my data collected and connected with Cincinnati Children's Hospital. My interest in allergies can even be applied to outdoor allergies for golf.
My diverse education outside of high school related to allergies combined with my unweighted 4.0 GPA through junior year and my strong and well rounded athletics in golf, lacrosse and dance makes me a unique candidate for college golf. I am coachable and listening is a strong trait of mine and I look forward to being given the opportunity to play college golf.
Sincerely,
Megan Noel
