Elaina Lord '24 Recruiting Profile

Hey! My name is Elaina Lord and I am a passionate golf player. My golf story all started the summer before my seventh grade year. Not only has my golf path shaped me as an athlete, but it has molded me into a determined, confident person over all. As I grow, I have realized that I am someone who is excited to try new things and I am always open to learning, even if that means it comes with failure. Success is always enjoyable but I have noticed that with failure comes the gift of gaining great wisdom and knowledge. When I started golf in junior high, the golf course was a brand new concept to me. It did not take me long to pick up the game and I soon realized that this was the sport and lifestyle for me. My parents, teammates, coaches, and peers have always told me that I am a natural at the game. 

I started my golf career on the right path and it has only gotten better from there. In junior high I spent the majority of my time as the number one player. I fell in love with countless things that make up golf but specifically the idea of individuality yet togetherness at the same time. I love the team aspect in golf as well. You can count on me to be someone who encourages others and supports people. I hold myself accountable and rely on myself for success which has brought me great responsibility and an unbreakable work ethic. Continuing my journey with golf has opened an unimaginable amount of doors full of brand new experiences and memories. 

Within my first three years of high school golf I have practiced with my swing coach, Gene Powell, to develop and polish new techniques. So far in high school my team has competed and gone to districts twice. This past season, I was a returning varsity golfer and I held the number one spot throughout the entirety of the season. Although I am leading my team, I continue to practice and improve to reach my goal of competing at the college level while earning an undergraduate degree.
