Devon Carpenter '22 Recruiting Profile

I am currently a senior (2022) at Field High School in Brimfield, Ohio. I am relatively new to golf, having just picked up a club for the first time three years ago. Prior to that, I played travel softball for many years. I just finished my third and final season of high school golf as well as several Northern Ohio PGA tournaments.  My junior season was a growth year, yielding a first tournament score of 127. From there, my strokes steadily dropped over three months with a score of 82 which became my low round.  The dramatic improvement in strokes played a huge role in the successful completion of my senior season. During this season, I achieved many personal goals and acheivements such as lowering my average, shooting consistently in the 80's,  placing second in my league, and qualifying for districts.

I continue to fall more in love with the game of golf with each experience. I have a thirst for improving my skills and am always exploring ways to enhance my game. I have been told by many coaches in both softball and golf, that I am extremely coachable and can make adjustments with ease. I am very optimistic and encouraging when it comes to my golf game and interacting with teammates. My academics are extremely important to me as well, as I carry a 3.6 GPA. In addition, I participate in College Credit Plus courses to get a head start on my education. Ultimately, I wish to leave an impression on everyone I come in contact with during this process and to enhance my education while playing competitive college golf.
