Golf has always been in my family, and I have played for the joy of the game most of my life. My strengths are in my athletic ability, and a focused strong mental game. In addition to golf, I am also a cheerleader, which has been great for my core strength and given me a way to stay active in the winter months of Ohio. Due to minor fractures in two of my high school summers, I have not played in summer tournaments in preparation for Collegiate golf. This year as I played my final season as a Upper Arlington Golden Bear golfer, I realized that I had not reached my full potential in golf. I am hungry and fresh with lots more potential to develop, and this drives me to continue in the sport to see where it takes me.
I was a major contributor for the Golden Bears, both on and off the course. I played in the the third position on our team that routinely shot between 290-305. Central Ohio golf is one of the most comptetitve areas for women's high school golf in the country, I am accustom to tough competition where every shot counts. I am known within that community for my sportsmanship, level mental game and character.
While Golf does not define me, and is not where I find my self worth, it is a big part of who I am. My father played D1 collegiate golf, my Uncle played on an NCAA Championship team at Wake Forest, and I grew up in the golfing community that gave us Jack Nicholas, who never stoppped being a Golden Bear.
I love playing golf because I truly get a thrill out of hitting a shot the way I envision it, and watching it fall perfectly. My high school coach often comments that golf should provide you a place of solitude to escape the rest of the world for time, and he knows that for me, golf is just that. It strengthens my charater, and challenges me both athletically and mentally. I am thankful for the place golf has in my life. I am looking for a team where I can be challenged, and a college where I can pursue my academics.
