Stefaniya Mosyagina '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Stefaniya Mosyagina, but everyone calls me Stesha. I am 17 years old, and my passion is Golf.

As a junior golf athlete, my journey started at 5 years old in a small Caribbean country, Dominican Republic. My dad was my first coach and the person who instantly showed me the sport I fell in love with. Later on, in 2019, I started lessons with my now coach, Jay Overton.

In 2013, I started attending local US Kids tournaments in my hometown, Punta Cana. Seeing how quickly I was getting better, my parents took the decision to start signing me up for FEDO GOLF tournaments (tournaments hosted by the DR Golf Association). As I played and grew in this wonderful association in 2018, I became a part of the Dominican Republic junior golf team, and each year thereafter, I have been part of the team. In 2022 and 2023, I also qualified for the Dominican Republic Senior team.

From the very start of my journey, I knew I wanted to pursue college golf. I thrive on each course's challenges, using them as opportunities to refine my skills and elevate my performance. The golf course is not just a battleground; it's a classroom where I learn about resilience, strategy, and the pursuit of excellence. Whether facing a tight fairway, a challenging bunker, or the pressure of a crucial putt, I approach each obstacle with a determined mindset and a hunger for improvement.

Beyond the scores and trophies, golf has instilled in me values that extend far beyond the boundaries of the course. Integrity, respect, and sportsmanship are not just words but guiding principles that shape my character both on and off the course. 

As I navigate the fairways of my junior golf career, I am fueled by a relentless passion for the game and an unyielding commitment to pushing my limits, both as an athlete and as an individual, to guide the future college golf team I will be a part of.
