I began learning how to play golf when I was eight years old. Immediately, I knew it was something I wanted to continue doing. I didn't make golf my main focus until my freshman year in high school when I made my school's varsity team. Being the first girl in my school's history to earn her spot on the golf team was an amazing experience. After playing that year on the team, I knew I wanted to make golf a part of my future. I went to district qualifiers after I placed in leagues my sophomore year. I will always remember playing against the other girls outside of the school season and realizing how much I wanted to continue playing into college. I obtained my varsity letter my sophomore year. I get along with the guys on the team and my coach now, is the same person who taught me how to play when I was younger. He has been there for me through it all and always reminds me what's important and keeps me on track.
I am a very determined athlete and I am continuously hoping to improve. I do very well in school and take many upper-level classes. I enjoy challenges and working through hard applications that really work my mind. Golf is not only a hobby to me, but the sport has taught me many important lessons and I have met many life-time friends. Being the only girl on my team has forced me to step out of my comfort zone. I have become much more confident in myself and, in turn, more confident in my game. I work extremely hard to not only do well in golf, but to maintain my academics as well. Thank you for considering me for your team!
