I started playing golf in 9th grade. I went out for my high school's team because I wanted to be involved in my school. On my first day of JV practice, I immediately knew that golf would be a challenging sport. Instead of allowing golf to frustrate me, I found myself setting goals and golf became a source of self-improvement both athletically and academically. The challenge of golf has motivated me to improve and set goals competitively and academically. As a junior, I competed in the PIAA District 3 2A tournament and was inducted into National Honors Society. Most recently I placed fifth in the Berks County Girls Tournament and qualified for the PIAA District 3 2A tournament where I placed seventh.
As an added bonus, golf has connected me with the most inspiring mentors. My high school coach, Mr. DeLoretta has been a constant source of encouragement, and my private golf instructor Joann Heller has taught me the intricacies of the sport, and has helped me develop a positive attitude toward golf. I can't imagine pursuing the next stage of my education without the companionship of golf. The motivation, challenges, and exposure to inspiring people are the forces that are drawing me to play golf on a collegiate level. Thank you for considering me.
