Darianys Guzman '22 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Darianys Guzman from Dorado, Puerto Rico. I have had the privilege of representing my island in many countries. I have also been a part of the Puerto Rico Junior National Team since 2015 (10 years old).  Puerto Rico is the Caribbean  Amateur junior golf champion for 12 consecutive times. I am thankful and proud of being part of the achievement that we had made as a team. 

Throughout the years I have grown in the team and  I think I would be a good candidate to be part of a college golf team. Think that I have learned thanks to being in the Puerto Rico National team that we need to trust each other and work together. Sometimes things do go as planned but we need to go on and keep up and do not give up because we are not playing as individuals but as a team.  As a Golf player I have learned to be disciplined, honest, being responsible, and always keep focused on my goals.

During the pandemic, we are experiencing I have reassured myself how much I love golf. As it has taught me how to adapt and keep working on my game.  Definitely, my dreams are going to continue on this amazing journey. I hope to have the opportunity to be part of a team in college.

GOLF ACHIEVEMENT AND HIGHLIGHTS

·       1 st place 2012-2013 Puerto Rico (PRGA) Junior Island Championship Girls 9 & under.

·       1 st place 2014-2015 Puerto Rico (PRGA) Junior Island Championship Girls 11 & under.

·       Runner up 2016 Puerto Rico (PRGA) Junior Island Championship Girls 13 & under.

·       1 st place 2017-2018 Puerto Rico (PRGA) Junior Island Championship Girls 13 & under.

·       1 st place 2019 Puerto Rico (PRGA) Junior Island Championship Girls 15 & under.

·       Puerto Rico Junior National Team (2015 - Present).

·       3 rd place U.S. Kids Golf Holiday Classic 2017 PGA National Golf Club.

·       Top 20 (14/64) U.S. Kids Golf Teen World Championship 2018.

·       1 st place Low Female Junior Amateurs 2019, PRGA National Championships (Ladies Division).
