The experience and merit a person gets from playing in a team is something I wasn’t aware of before high school since I had only participated in individual competitions. I attended the Dianne Dailey Golf Camp at Wake Forest University, and discovered the path to becoming a college athlete. Although I did not receive first place in the tournament, I learned more valuable lessons that will stick with me for a lifetime. I received a memorable award for having a mindset of a true team member. Through this experience, I learned the true meaning of teamwork in the sport of golf. Teamwork in golf isn’t about depending on each other to always win, but to be supportive and helpful.
I want to be part of a college program where academics and athletics are equally important. I am dedicated to effectively use my time and put in effort for a sport I love while pursuing my academic career. As I continue my high school golf career, I am positive that I will be able to become a successful student, leader, teammate, and a collegiate level player.
