As a student-athlete, it Is essential for me to find a college that matches my interest in playing golf and is aligned with my academic goals and values. When I first had an interest in playing golf five years ago, my Middle School didn’t have a team, so I was allowed to play for Wren High School, starting my 8th-grade year. That taught me a lot. Learning the game on a team with state-ranked players who came in second place during the state finals ignited a passion for the game that continues to this day. It also taught me about humility, character, and drive.
Golf has become an important part of my life and has complimented other vital areas, such as academics, my faith, and my future. Those areas, combined, drive me to excel in each of them and not to only focus on one. This is reflected in the fact that I was the top player on our varsity team for the past two years, being named All-Region. In addition, having a 3.6 unweighted GPA, and a 3.99 weighted GPA, being an active member of FCA, Beta Club, Serteen Club, and overseeing the Social Media applications for the church I attend continue to drive me to be my best.
It’s important that the college I attend have programs that expand my interest, meet my academic and career goals of being a teacher and golf coach, and grow as a person.
