My name is Kyleigh McGowen, class of 2023 (High School) I am currently a Sophomore at New Mexico Jr. College which I have played for the past two years. We were able to go all the way to the NJCAA Women's National Championship in Melbourne FL in 2024. I started to play golf at a young age and once I was able i began to play Jr. Tournaments was when I got a taste for competition. Golf has taught me how to be strong both in the good times and when times are rough. It has taught me how to come out of my shell as I use to be very quiet and shy. It has shown me how to be a hard worker both on the course and off while juggling multiple priorities. You typically can find me practicing my short game and putting or find me studying for a test or project. I do like to be with my friends but my determination to continue to grow and be better with golf and school always takes priority. As a student currently I am focusing on my grades and becoming a better player or competitor.
I am currently finishing up in Spring of 2025 at New Mexico Jr. College while representing them on their Women's Golf program which began when I was a Freshman. My goal is to continue to play golf while perusing my goal of obtaining an B.A. in Business and eventually MBA. My goal is to one day work in the golf industry or become a Coach so that I can help the next generation of young golfers.
I am in search of a school to transfer to once I am done at New Mexico Jr. College in May of 2025. I believe that I could be a asset to any program.
