I have had a passion for golf since I was little. As a child I would hit golf balls in my front yard. At the age of eight, I began taking lessons. My freshman year of high school is when I started to seriously focus on golf. I enjoy playing golf and work hard to excel and improve each and every day.
This past year I received the Cougar Heart Award, for girls golf, which is given to the athlete who displays the qualities of character, commitment, sacrifice and effort. I have a very positive attitude, am self-motivated, dedicated and devoted to my teammates and drive them and myself to be the best we can be both on and off the golf course. I love to be coached. In fact my private coach calls me a robot, He gives me instruction/correction in my technique and I apply it. I also enjoy giving my time to help others. I volunteer in my church's children's ministries where I invest time in kids lives who are eight to twelve years old. I give back to my community by delivering gift baskets to fire houses and police stations and volunteer at food banks.
I am interested in majoring in Communications or Political Science. My desire is to find a college that will help me pursue my career goals while allowing me to continue to play competitive golf. I am from Central Texas and accustomed to warmer climates, but I am not opposed to attending school in Northern states.
