Isabel Montelongo '20 Recruiting Profile

I became interested in golf when I was 7 years old and have been in love with the game ever since. I love the competition, the varying difficulties of the courses, the strategy and thought involved in each shot, and the challenges each hole brings.  Each year of varsity golf has brought many challenges through which I have grown academically and athletically.  This is will be my fourth year on the varsity team.  Making it to State my junior year was a life long goal and I hope to qualify again my senior year.

My first priority and dedication is to academics and if I am able to get an excellent college education in addition to playing golf, that would be the ultimate dream come true. In the classroom and on the course, I am dedicated and work very hard to be a better student, better athlete, and better person. I lead by example and when necessary challenge those around me to do and be better as well. We are all a team and we are only as strong as our weakest member.

Golf has taught me a lot about life and myself as a person. I have learned the importance of patience, perseverance, and how to overcome setbacks. I have also learned that hard work, dedication, and purpose leads to success. I know this will bring me success in college as a student and as an athlete.
