Hello my name is Ava Houchen! I‘ve been playing golf for 5 years. Golf has been an outlet for me because at age of 5 I was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis which has been difficult finding a sport that isn’t hard on my body. Golf gave me the ability to do something I love and work hard at ,but still keeps my body safe. I am very competitive by nature whether it comes to one of my favorite hobbies, which is wake-surfing or playing volleyball with friends at the beach . While I enjoy the competition, I also enjoy working hard together and having good teamwork. Golf has also given me the opportunity to make new friends and bring people together which is very important to me. I think the make up of a good team is close relationships within the team members. This is something I like contributing to because I like seeing good relationships within the team. I’m very excited to be able to participate in a college golf program as well as getting good college education at a school i’m very proud to be a part of!
