Making my high school varsity golf team as a freshman has been a highlight. Although golf is an individual sport, I had to learn as a member of a team that there are others on the team relying on my score. Through golf, I have learned to be resilient no matter what the situation, I can always come back stronger. A good example of this happened recently at a high school tournament at Panther Trail, The Woodlands, TX. On the first day, I shot an 83 and felt I could have played better. The next day I was determined to improve upon that score. I went out on the second day and shot a 72, which was the first time I shot even par in a tournament. This has been the greatest highlight of my high school career to date. Another highlight was making it to the 6A Texas State Championship my sophomore year. My team finished 6th in the state while I delivered the second lowest scores for my team during the tournament. (80 - 81 = 161)
I want to play college golf and compete at the highest levels. I know that I have the temperament and skills to be successful at the college level.
