I take what I love very seriously. I love family, learning, helping others, and I love golf. Golf came into my life at the right time. A childhood allergy to chlorine forced me out of the pool, ending my dream of becoming a collegiate swimmer. Golf not only gave me a place to use my competitive self-driven nature, it gave me an outlet to learn constantly, be able to help others, and draw my family closer together. I love the complexities of the golf swing and learning about the newest or latest technologies.
I am an extremely fast learner, so I progress quickly and execute a proper mental approach to the game. Not only am I the first person to start practice, but I am the last one to leave. I practice with a purpose. My goal every day is to be the best golfer my potential will allow. The strong points in my game are my putting, and my distance. I also believe my knowledge of the proper techniques in golf has allowed me to be a helpful source to my fellow friends.
I value being helpful and another way I can do this outside of golf is through a mother daughter charity group called NCL. I perform roles of leadership within our group and have served over 500 hours volunteering to help my local community. In 2024, I am graduating from NCL, and one major lesson I have learned is how to balance my time. Between my golf game, NCL and my school commitments, which consist of NHS, SNHS, Mu Alpha Theta, and vigorous classes, I have very little free time.
Through my time management skills, my competitive drive, my determinedness, and being a quick learner, I know I will succeed in college golf. I have made major improvements to my swing and short game, with a lot of sacrifices, and help from my family.
Thank you for your time
Dig it out of the dirt,
Brooke Yount
