My intent to play competitive college golf came to me at a very young age. I remember playing at a Little Linksters Championship Tournament for the South Texas Professional Golf Association at the Cypresswoods Golf Club in Humble, Texas. After finishing my nine of holes of play, I was approached by a gentleman asking me about my golf game and who I was. I wasn’t quite sure if I should speak to him until he finally introduced himself as a college recruit. It was then that the desire to play collegiate golf became a reality. My family, my teachers, and my golf coaches, both private and school, have influenced my decision to continue playing at the next level. Also, knowing that I can compete with others because of the various tournaments that I have participated in that had representation from people across the country. Most importantly, I love the game and relish in the opportunity to play competitively for as long as I can. As I entered high school it made me set small goals to help me reach my ultimate goal of playing competitive in high school that will eventually lead me to golf in college. As the most experienced player on my high school golf team, I’m able to teach my peers the First Tee skills such as honesty, integrity, responsibility and courtesy. It is these skills that are not only shaping my golf game but me as a young adult.
