Finishing my junior year in high school and I am very proud on how I finished the year. I won districts by shooting a good 68, than advancing to state after shooting a 76 and 75 at regionals. Then I got the opportunity to play at state and shot a 76 for both days, I placed 12th as an individual. This summer I will be Working hard this summer and can't wait to see what is next for me.
Entering my second year (Sophomore) on Varsity. My goals this year is to improve on my GPA and lower my 7 handicap from last year. Playing this last summer in two day golf tournaments I spent more time learning about the course I was going to play rather than trying to perfect every aspect of my game. During practice rounds I would document which clubs and shots I would use most and practice those clubs or shots during the week. I would also make notes of green slopes and breaks for approach shots and puts. I started to learn the process on how to play different courses (strategy). Another goal I have this year is to make the Texas State Golf Tournament. In Regionals last year I finished 31/96 as a freshman and feel this year I can do a lot better.
My name is Madison Silva (freshman) and I just began my first year on the varsity golf team at Pflugerville Hendrickson High School (Enrollment 3125). In my first three tournaments I shot 75 (2nd), 83, and 77 (5th). I am eager to compete this spring in district and hopefully competing in the toughest girls region in Texas (Region 2 6A). I have been competing in tournament golf since the age of 10 and played in over forty recognized tournaments in 2015. Golf is the game I love to compete, enjoy to practice and relax watching. I am competitive, understand the work necessary to constantly improve, and look forward to competing at the next level.
