Mackenzie Sears '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Mackenzie Sears. I am a Junior at Silsbee High School. I have been playing golf for 7 years. My goal is to play golf at the college level.  I first learned to play golf because of my grandfather. In my family golf is a sport that brings us all together. My best memories are of riding around the golf course with my grandparents, brother and cousin. Golf is a sport that has taught me so much about myself. Honest and integrity are two traits I have found to be the most important. I also feel that my ability to lead sets me apart on my team.  In June 2017 I won the Babe Dickerson Zaharias award for Character and Leadership.  As a Freshman I came in second in district and moved on to regionals to represent my school. Then my Sophomore year I won district and again went to regionals.  My goal this year is to win my district again and move on to regionals and finish in the top ten. Academically I am studying very hard to maintain A's and B's. and bring my GPA  up. 

When I am not playing golf I am very involved in the FCCLA where I am the treasurer. I also enjoy hunting and fishing and taking selfies with my pet cow Floyd.
