Personal Statement

I do not have access to email messages sent to me at NCSA. Please reach me at [email protected]. I am a class of 2022 recruit.

Hello! My name is Maddie Elias and I am currently a senior. For the last 10 years of my life, I played nationally competitive softball, and was a D1 recruit. Right before I started my freshman year of high school, I picked up golf for the first time since I was little. I loved it! But my freshman summer I was diagnosed with a serious illness, and the treatment eliminated sports for my entire sophomore year. (I'm fine now.)

It wasn't until the summer before my junior year that I was able to truly focus on golf. I made my high school team and adored the competitiveness that it lead me to. With my dad (a former PGA professional) and my high school coach to help, I improved a lot in those early months. In my senior season, I placed 9th in the region (co-ed), 2nd in the region (women's), and 11th in the women's state tournament, and was named most improved player for my team. I scored in the 70s for every match we played in.

I am taking a gap year to focus even more on improving my golf game.  My goals are to play in college starting in the fall of 2022 and compete at a high level, and eventually beat my dad.

Cool facts about me: My dad was a PGA head professional for 18 years, and my mom was a D1 softball player . I enjoy art and am looking to major in it. I am one of 4 siblings. My favorite book is Throne of Glass. And I love to listen to old music like Sammy Davis Jr and Dean Martin.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
