I have been playing since I was five years old. The reason I started playing hockey was because of my brother who put a hockey stick in my room when I was only three years old. I remember when I was little I would always watch the bigger kids out practicing and wishing I could be just like them one day. I am the youngest of six kids. When I was little I was homeschooled so I got to travel to see my sister Nina play D1 women's lacrosse at Liberty University all the time. Being able to have the opportunity to grow up and see the college athlete life and to be able to watch my sister be so successful I knew I wanted to do the same thing when I grew up.
I have a good visualization of the ice when I play defense, I play a strong physical defense, I have a good strong shot from the point and I like to play aggressively on the blue line to keep the puck in. I am an assistant captain. With having the responsibility of being an assistant captain I have learned to lead my teammates, encourage them on and off the ice and to always have a positive attitude. Every time I step on the ice I strive to be one of the hardest working players out there.
Even outside of hockey I always strive to be the hardest working student in the classroom. I like to take AP and honors classes to be able to challenge myself in school so that I can learn and grow. Because I maintain getting good grades in all of my classes, I currently have a high gpa of 4.2.
I would like to attend a college where I can continue to push myself in the classroom to pursue an engineering career. I would also like to be able to attend a college where I can continue to push myself on the ice at the highest level of competition possible. I am open to all options that will allow me to do that.
