When I was younger I played in summer golf tournaments for fun, as golf was something my dad and I did together.
It wasn’t until I joined my High Schools golf team freshman year that I realized how much I enjoyed golf and that it would become an important part of who I am as a person. I also realized this past year that I would really enjoy playing golf and the next level and I am working towards my goal. On the off season I swing 100 times a day at least, and take 100 puts on my putting green to work on having more consistent form. I also try and get at least one 9 hole round of golf in every week.
Golfing has taught me many lessons that I can take with me everywhere, but one specifically had stood out to me this past season. I learned that if I have a shot I don’t like, I need to learn from my mistake and figure out what to do different in my next shot because this will help me became a better golfer. If I get upset with myself than my shots aren’t to my full potential, but the best part about this is I now know there is always something I can do about it.
School is also very important to me and I work extremely hard to do my best every single day to help maintain the highest GPA and test scores I am capable of. I am a part of my schools Inter-High where we work with other schools in our district to make our community a better place. I am also a part of Fellowship Of Christian Athletes (FCA) where we work to have a safe place for people to share and talk about religion, and we serve others and do community projects to help spread the love of Jesus.
