Hello,
My name is Carly Moon and I am a student at Baraboo High School in Baraboo, WI. I have been playing golf with my parents and grandparents since I was in elementary school. I really like the sport of golf because it is a lifetime sport that I hope to enjoy for a long time. My entire family plays the sport and we really enjoy this time together. I also really like the environment surrounding the sport. In my high school experience I have never golfed with someone who isn’t encouraging of another golfer. My freshman year was the inaugural season for the Baraboo Girls Golf Team. I was one of the few girls who had experience in golf and there were also three seniors on the team I was competing against. I started consistently scoring lower than them and sealed my spot as the #1 golfer on the team. The same thing happened my sophomore year, however, I was more confident of what I could really do on the course and my scores showed that. I dropped 10 strokes off of my average from freshman to sophomore year. During the off-season going into my junior year I attended multiple camps and tournaments.
Some qualities that I know I am confident in bringing to the team is my positivity and perseverance. I made it a priority, especially this season, to motivate and set goals for my team. I try to keep my teammates’ heads up and help them work towards both personal, and team goals. To top it off I am also a team player who enjoys the company of others, I have knowledge of the game, and I always try my best. I look forward to furthering my golf experience in the coming years.
