As a high school athlete I have learned two things; never show up late to practice and the harder you work, the greater the reward. But not all work is recognized. You have to be willing to keep pushing. I have had to deal with many injuries throughout my career but I feel as if this has made me stronger and a better person because I've learned how to adapt and overcome unforeseen circumstances and work with what you have. Being from a northern state I do not have the opportunity to practice all year long like other athletes because of the weather. Instead, I use this time when the course is covered in snow to prepare both mentally and physically for the next season. I think that I am ready for the next level because I know what It means to be a hard worker and a team player. You have to be able to rely on other people but also make sure your team can rely on you.
