My name is Mikayla Burton. I am a level 10 gymnast and has been since 2017. My training occurs at Newnan School of Gymnastics. I have been a regional qualifier for level 9 2015 and 2016 and level 10 2019. I attend Newnan High School in Newnan, Georgia and will graduate May of 2022. At Newnan High School, I am on the varsity gymnastics team. I am also the assistant gymnastics coach for the level 4 team at Newnan School of Gymnastics.
As a high school senior that is taking advanced, gifted and advanced placement classes, I currently have a 3.5 GPA. I believe that having a great high school experience will help prepare me for college. As I start to explore my options for colleges and universities, I am very interested in becoming a gymnast at the college level.
It takes hard work and dedication to become a gymnast. I have been in the gym since I was two years old. I understand the commitment that it takes to be a part of a great gymnastics team. It would be a dream come true to be a part of a college gymnastics team. I believe that I will be a valuable member of a college gymnastics team because I am a team player, coachable, and I love gymnastics.
