My name is Jalynne Barrientes and I attend Radford High School and compete as a Level 9/10 for Rainbow Gymnastics Academy in Hawaii. I have been involved in the sport of gymnastics for over 10 years and through those years I have had my eyes set on representing a University as a student-athlete. Gymnastics has not only set a foundation for me physically but it has allowed me the opportunity to grow as a person socially, emotionally, and learn the importance of being on a team. As a teammate, I pride myself on the positive energy I bring to the gym for practices as well as competitions. Regardless of the day I have in the gym, I feel that its important for me to keep a smile on my face, provide encouragement, and support my teammates from start to finish. This mindset has allowed me to work through my toughest days while remaining a positive light to everyone else. I look forward to continuing my gymnastics journey and working to grow as a person both in and out of the gym.
