Amanda Hamann '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Amanda Hamann and I am competitive gymnast for Ultimate Gymnastics of Gurnee and Warren Township High School. As a freshmen, I was able to be on the Varsity gymnastics team and help bring the win of second place in the state for our team. The experience of being able to celebrate a win with the team my first year in high school was amazing. The motivation and excitement of that year was something that won't be forgotten and is something that continues to motivate me for the love and passion of gymnastics. 

This year was such an amazing year for me.  Throughout my 2022 high school gymnastics season I was able to set a new career high and later in the season be able to beat that high with new and improved skills and technique. I was so happy to be able to grow close with a new team as I transferred high schools and was  in a new environment. The drive, dedication, and leadership I had this year was something my teammate and coaches were extremely thankful for. I am so excited to see what my senior year holds for me and I can’t wait for my team and I to kill it next season.

School is something that I enjoy being able to do not only to learn but for the social part as well. I am a straight A student even with my crazy gymnastics schedule everyday. My goal throughout high school is to continue to keep up the hard work and to one day be able to commit to a collage for gymnastics and nursing. I want to be able to love the college I'm at and have a good support team behind me and help push me to reach my further goals.  

Since I was little I've always wanted to do high school and college gymnastics. I remember watching the Olympics and college competition being showed and saying to my family that that's what I'm going to do when I'm older. I've slowly been able to reach this goal as I've continued to grow and move up in gymnastics. My skills have been progressing pretty fast this year and I'm so excited to compete as a level nine gymnast. 

Being able to show off my hard work and getting the rush if adrenaline when competing is the best! I love the feeling of being able to hit a routine and have fun when competing, I think that's the most important part. Having awesome coaches and teammate that will be there for me and have fun with me is what I look for and want in a team and family.
